Terms of Service
Effective August 28, 2026. Last updated August 28, 2026.
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of weirdrevenue.com (the "Service"), including the board, project pages, the submission form and the sponsor slots. By using the Service, submitting a project or booking a sponsor slot, you agree to these Terms and to our privacy notice. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
Operator and contact
The Service is operated by [Operator name, legal form and postal address, to be added before launch] ("we", "us"). Legal notices, corrections, removal requests and questions: hello@weirdrevenue.com.
What the Service is
Weird Revenue lists internet projects that turn attention into money in unusual ways and records, for each of them, what they earned according to public sources, how that figure is backed, how attention and revenue moved over time, and, if the project stopped, why. Listings are records, not reviews, certifications, endorsements or rankings of quality. A project appearing on the board says nothing about whether it is a good idea, a legitimate business or a safe place to spend money.
We may change, pause or discontinue features, boards, categories, status rules and the way figures are derived at any time.
Figures are records, not advice
Every revenue figure carries a proof level: Verified, Public counter, Claimed or Estimate. Only Verified figures were checked by us. Public counter figures are what a project's own website displayed when we looked. Claimed figures are what a creator said in public. Estimates are our arithmetic from visible information. Changes over 24 hours and 7 days are derived from daily snapshots and can lag. Post views, likes and similar counts are the public numbers of the posts we track and are a floor, not a total. Website visits are only known if a creator shares them and are labelled as such.
We do not verify that listed creators, claims, prices or results are true unless a figure is marked Verified. Nothing on the Service is financial, legal or business advice. Your results from copying any mechanic depend on your audience, timing and factors we do not control.
Dead projects stay listed
A project that stopped, failed, sold out or went offline remains on the board with its last known figures, its lifetime and the cause we recorded. Removing failures would defeat the purpose of the Service. Creators can still ask for corrections, and for the removal of their personal data, under "Corrections and removal" below.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to submit a project or book a sponsor slot.
- If you act for a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company, and "you" includes that company.
- You may not use the Service if you are prohibited from receiving services under the laws of Germany, the European Union or another applicable jurisdiction, including trade sanctions.
Submissions
Anyone can check in a project. By submitting a URL, a name, a creator handle or a figure you represent and warrant that the information is public, accurate to your knowledge, and that you are not impersonating anyone or claiming a project for someone without authorization. We review every submission by hand. We may reject, edit, shorten, recategorize or delay a submission without giving a reason. Duplicates, spam, projects without any public signal, and projects that are ordinary businesses with a funny name are rejected. Submissions do not create any right to be listed.
You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, edit, reproduce and publicly display the text you submit, for as long as needed to operate and archive the Service.
Sponsor slots
Sponsor slots are paid advertisements. They are always labelled as such and never influence which projects are listed, how the board is sorted, which status a project gets or what we write about it. Sponsors are not listed as projects unless they qualify on their own.
- What you buy. A named slot in one of the two bands, on every public page, for a run of 7 days, at the fixed price shown on /sponsor at the time of booking. You provide a name, one line of text, a link and a colour. We do not fetch anything from your site. A click on the slot opens your link in a new tab.
- What you do not buy. Traffic, clicks, customers, revenue, a position on the board, editorial mentions, exclusivity, or any particular result.
- Businesses only. Sponsor slots are offered to businesses, self-employed persons and organisations acting in their trade or profession. By booking you confirm that you act as a business and not as a consumer. Consumer protection rules for distance contracts, including the statutory right of withdrawal, therefore do not apply to sponsor bookings. If you book as a consumer despite this clause, you expressly request that we start the service before any withdrawal period ends and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the slot is live.
- Booking and payment. Payment is made in advance through our payment provider Dodo Payments, which acts as merchant of record, or by a payment link we send after an email request. A booking becomes binding when the payment has arrived and we have confirmed it. Prices are in US dollars; taxes are added at checkout where they apply. The provider's checkout terms apply to the payment itself.
- Approval before go-live. We review every sponsor by hand and may decline a sponsor without giving a reason, in particular for content listed under "Prohibited content and use". If we decline before the slot goes live, we refund the payment in full. That is the only case in which a refund is owed.
- All sales final after go-live. The run starts on the day we switch your slot on, and from that moment the service is rendered. No refund, credit or extension is owed for fewer clicks or visits than hoped, for the performance of your own website, for downtime or maintenance of the Service, for changes to the board or its design, for a change in the number of other sponsors, or for removal of your slot because of a breach of these Terms. You may not set off claims against the price or withhold payment unless your counterclaim is undisputed or has been finally decided by a court. A chargeback for a slot that went live as booked is a breach of these Terms; we may recover the amount, the provider's fees and our costs.
- Renewal. There is no automatic renewal. We ask before every extension. The price you booked at stays the same for your renewals; price changes apply to new bookings only.
- Removal. We may remove a live slot with or without notice if it breaks these Terms, if a rights holder complains, or if we believe it creates legal, security or reputational risk. Removal for breach does not entitle you to a refund. If we remove a slot for a reason you are not responsible for, we extend the run by the missing days or refund the unused days; that is your only remedy.
Prohibited content and use
You may not submit, sponsor or use the Service for:
- Sexual or adult-platform content; chat, invite or messaging-group links; link shorteners that hide the real destination.
- Content that is illegal, fraudulent, defamatory, harassing, hateful or violent, or that exploits children.
- Counterfeit goods, unauthorized streaming, or other infringement of copyright, trademark or other rights.
- Offers that require licenses you do not have, including certain financial, medical, gambling or weapons-related offers.
- Malware, phishing, scams, or destinations whose main purpose is to deceive visitors.
- Interfering with the Service: scraping at hostile rates or for a competing dataset without written permission, flooding the submission form, bypassing rate limits, or reverse engineering except as allowed by mandatory law.
Third-party content and fair use
To run the board we collect and display publicly available information about listed projects and their creators: project names, website addresses, taglines, publicly displayed counters, creator names and public handles, follower counts, and public posts that contain figures about the project. We use that material only to identify the project, to record what it earned and how, and to operate and improve the Service. Names and signs of third parties are used solely to identify the project being recorded and do not imply affiliation with or endorsement by their owners. Links to listed projects leave the Service; those destinations have their own terms, and we are not responsible for them.
You may quote figures, categories and analyses from the Service with a link to the project page. Bulk reuse of the dataset, mirroring the board, or building a competing ranking product on our data requires our written permission. Weird Revenue, our wordmark and the look of the Service are ours.
Corrections and removal
If you are the creator of a listed project and something is wrong, email hello@weirdrevenue.com with the project page, what is wrong and, where possible, a source. We correct verified errors and add your evidence with its proof level. You may also ask for your name and personal data to be removed from a listing, or for a project to be unlisted; we answer within a week and remove personal data on request. The project's public figures may remain on record without your name where a legitimate interest in the record outweighs the request, as permitted by law.
Complaints and rights notices
If you believe a listing infringes your copyright, trademark, publicity or other rights, or that a listed project is unlawful, email hello@weirdrevenue.com with: (1) your name and contact details; (2) the project page on the Service; (3) a description of the problem; and (4) a statement that the notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act. We may hide the listing while we review the notice and may share the notice with the submitter or creator. Repeat or abusive notices may be ignored.
No endorsement, no earnings claims
Appearance on the board is not our opinion of a project. Revenue figures, growth and history describe what public sources reported or what our systems recorded; they are not a promise that anyone copying the mechanic will get the same outcome.
Availability and changes
We provide the Service as is. It may be unavailable, slow or incorrect. We may change boards, rules, categories, prices for new bookings, or these Terms. If a change is material, we update the date at the top of this page. Continued use after a change means you accept the new Terms. For a sponsor booking already confirmed, the Terms in effect at confirmation still apply to that booking, except where a change is required by law or needed to address a security or legal risk.
Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure or free of errors, or that listings, figures, statuses or analyses are accurate or complete.
Limitation of liability
We do not limit liability that applicable law says we cannot limit, including liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, or liability under mandatory product-liability rules. Subject to that:
- We are not liable for lost profits, lost data, lost goodwill, substitute services, or other indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages.
- For slight negligence, we are liable only for a foreseeable breach of duties that are essential to these Terms, and only for typical, foreseeable damage.
- Our total liability for a claim relating to a sponsor booking is limited to the amount you paid us for that booking in the three months before the claim. For everything else on the Service, which is free to use, our liability is limited to the extent the law allows.
Indemnity
You will defend, indemnify and hold harmless the operator and the people working on the Service from claims, damages, losses and reasonable legal fees arising out of your submission, your sponsor content or destination, your breach of these Terms, or your infringement of someone else's rights. We may take over the defense of a claim; you will cooperate.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. If you are a consumer with a mandatory local law that cannot be displaced, that law still protects you. If you are not a consumer, the courts at the operator's place of business in Germany have exclusive jurisdiction, to the extent permitted.
General
- If a part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect, and the invalid part is replaced by the valid term that comes closest to the original intent.
- Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a transfer of the Service.
- These Terms, the privacy notice and the details of a confirmed sponsor booking form the entire agreement for the Service.
- Hosting, email and payment processing involve third parties. Their outages or decisions are outside our control.
